Queensland is the smallest of the three states with real numbers on this site, and it is written that way here. South East Queensland is a corridor rather than a city, which changes how you should search.
Treating this as a Brisbane page would be a mistake. People in South East Queensland do not live in a ring around a central business district the way Sydney and Melbourne roughly do. They live along a strip that runs from Ipswich in the west, through Brisbane, out to Redcliffe and Caboolture in the north, and down through Logan to the Gold Coast.
That shape matters for searching. Two people 40 kilometres apart along the corridor may have an easier time meeting than two people 20 kilometres apart across it, because the roads run the long way.
Inner Brisbane. West End, Paddington, New Farm, Woolloongabba. Compact, walkable in patches, and the easiest place in the state to arrange a first coffee. South Bank is the obvious meeting point and it is obvious for a reason: it is public, it is shaded, and it is easy to leave.
The northside. Chermside, Aspley, out to Redcliffe and Caboolture. The Redcliffe peninsula is a genuinely pleasant place to walk and talk and it is about 40 minutes from the city, which is manageable in one direction and tiring in both.
The southside and Logan. Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank, Springwood, Beenleigh. This is a large share of the population and it is well positioned for anybody splitting the difference between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Ipswich and the western corridor. Ipswich, Springfield, Goodna. About 40 kilometres from the city and served by a train line that does the job. Worth searching locally first rather than assuming everything happens in Brisbane.
The Gold Coast. Southport, Broadbeach, Burleigh, down to Coolangatta. A substantial market in its own right and roughly an hour from Brisbane on a good run down the M1. It is a day out rather than an evening.
Brisbane to the Gold Coast is about 80 kilometres. On a clear run it is an hour. It is often not a clear run. If you are talking to somebody at the other end of the corridor, plan a lunch rather than an evening coffee and go on a weekday if either of you can. Trying to do it at five o'clock on a Friday is how a promising first meeting turns into an apology.
For a good part of the year, an outdoor meeting in the middle of the afternoon is unpleasant, and in the wet season it is a gamble. Mornings work better here than in the southern capitals, and picking somewhere with shade or air conditioning is not fussiness, it is the difference between an hour that goes well and one that ends early.
Queensland is the smallest of the three states with real numbers on this site. That is not a reason not to join, but it is a reason to search the whole corridor rather than a tight radius around your suburb, and to expect quieter weeks than somebody in Sydney would. Mature dating near you covers what to do when a week turns up nobody.
Sydney and New South Wales and Melbourne and Victoria are the two larger markets. Our safety page is worth reading before you write to anybody, and pricing explains what messaging costs.
No. It covers South East Queensland as a corridor, from Ipswich through Brisbane and down to the Gold Coast, because that is how people here actually live and travel.
Around 80 kilometres and roughly an hour when the M1 behaves, which it often does not. It is a day out rather than a weeknight coffee, and worth treating as one.
Somewhere with shade and parking. West End, Paddington, the riverside at South Bank, Redcliffe, and the older parts of Southport all work. Mornings are better than afternoons for most of the year.
Browsing is free and no card is needed. Search the corridor rather than a tight radius.
